SEAI pays up to €14,500 towards an air-to-water heat pump in a house built and occupied before 2021, including €2,000 for taking out an oil boiler. The grant has to be approved before any work starts, and the work has to be done by an SEAI-registered contractor.

A heat pump works best in a well-insulated house. For homes built before 2007, SEAI asks for a technical assessment of the heat loss before you apply, unless your BER already shows it is low enough.

Often they will. A heat pump runs the water cooler than an oil boiler, so some rooms need a bigger radiator to stay warm. We check each room before we give you a price.

Yes. When a heat pump goes in, the oil boiler comes out.

If the house has been insulated and sealed up to get it ready for a heat pump, it needs good ventilation too, or the damp air has nowhere to go. We can look at both together.

Ring or WhatsApp 085 721 0156 and tell us what the boiler is doing, and whether you have oil in the tank. We will tell you when we can get to you.

Once a year, ideally before the winter. A service keeps the boiler burning clean and catches small faults before they turn into a breakdown.

Yes. A dripping tap or a leaking pipe is as welcome as a full bathroom.

Yes. WhatsApp a photo or a short video to 085 721 0156 with your town, and we will come back to you.

Send a few photos of the room and a line about what you have in mind, or ring to arrange a visit. We will talk you through it and give you a price.

Yes. Builders, electricians and other trades ring us for core drilling, as well as homeowners.

Tell us the size of the pipe or duct and what the wall or floor is made of, and we will tell you what we can do.

Ring or WhatsApp 085 721 0156, or send the form with a few words about the job. A photo on WhatsApp helps us give you an idea before we call out.
